Why does this Fcetus present by the Cephalic Extremity. (Glasgow Medical Journal, June 1895).?Dr. Anstruther Davidson attempts to answer this much-vexed question. He thinks that Simpson's theory is pretty but doubtful and believes that the ovoid shape of the uterus has little effect on the presentation of the foetus ?that in fact the uterus is compelled by the position of the foetus to assume that shape, both the "gravitation" and "adaptive action" theories are inadequate.
